All businesses organized in the State of California must pay an annual franchise tax, minimum $800. This tax is due each year by April 15.
The tax amount increases as your business revenue increases. There are exceptions to first year business entities. Read more details and explanations at this link https://www.ftb.ca.gov/file/business/index.html.
The best way to pay the California Franchise Tax Board is to have your Accountant schedule a Direct Debit payment with your CA Business Tax Return.
Alternatively, you can submit online:
- Use your bank account at this link: https://www.ftb.ca.gov/pay/bank-account/index.asp > use Web Pay business
- Use your credit card at this link: https://www.ftb.ca.gov/pay/credit-card.html > Pay now with Official Payments
If you prefer to pay by check, the annual tax payment is due with a voucher:
- Click this link https://www.ftb.ca.gov/file/business/index.html > click on your business type i.e. LLC or Corporation > scroll to locate LLC voucher or CA S-Corp Franchise or Tax Return Form 100S > print and mail with check per instructions on form
