In October or November, every year, you will receive a tax rate notice from your state Unemployment Insurance tax/ Reemployment tax agency. As with any and all tax notices, please forward this letter to your payroll team.
Unemployment insurance tax rates are based on the total wages paid by your business, therefore they can fluctuate from year to year.
If you are managing your own payroll, make sure to update your software. If we are managing your payroll we will not know to update your software until we receive that letter.
